Brown Trout:
The Brown Trout are starting to migrate towards the south portions of Lake Burton. Most of these fish are hanging on a 30 to 40 ft bottom near the main lake channels. We have been catching some real quality fish the last few days trolling. A few fish have tipped the scales at 9 lbs. Spoons seem to be the bait of choice second to Blue- Backs right now. We have been trolling silver and green Crocodile spoons at 3 mph at a depth of 20ft. Be sure to make lots of sharp turns. Look for these fish to slowly migrate further south in the next few weeks as the water temperature rises toward the low 80 deg mark.
Bass:
Most of the Bass have spawned now and have pulled out over deeper water. Most of these fish are holding tight to a 25 to 32ft bottom. There have been days when the bite is tough and days where we can catch them on plain hooks. Deep diving white crank baits have been working well
( Strike King xd 10). (Super Fish) jigs tipped with a white fluke have been working the best. This is a small blade lure that should be worked close to the bottom. It seems to bring the fish up. Once there up feeding they will keep aggressively biting. There is a little top water action mid morning/ mid-day. Be sure to keep a spook bait tied on or a jerk bait for quick access. Look for these bass to remain in these depths for the next few weeks. The bite pattern will become more predictable ( early to mid morning and late afternoon).

Good luck!
