Lake Burton Fishing Report
Water temp 78deg
Clarity: clear
Level: full pool

Walleye
The Walleye have started moving deep. They are feeding on a 29 to 35 ft bottom near the river channels. They have been biting downline Blue-Back Herring the best over the last few days. We have been setting our baits just above the bottom. Last week we boated a couple of fish in the 5 to 9lbs range using this technique. Look for these fish to head towards deeper water over the next few weeks and the bite to turn into a night bite.
Trout
The Brown Trout have started showing up over the main lake channel in big numbers. These fish are moving fast and are hard to keep under the boat. Trolling spoons and small jerk baits has been the ticket for the last few days. As the water temps heat up towards the 80deg mark these fish will be in tighter schools and a little easier to catch. Be sure and alternate speeds when trolling baits this seems to work best for the bigger Brown’s.
Bass
The Spotted Bass bite has been awesome lately. We have caught these fish on top water over the main lake channel when chasing Blue-Back Herring around. We have also caught alot nice ones on a White Fluke and white jerk bait. If the wind is blowing I work a jerk bait over points. If there is no wind I like to watch for top water and head towards the fish. These fish will slowing work their way towards deeper brush over the next few weeks and the drop shot bite will be the ticket.
Good Luck
