Bass
The bass bite has been great the last couple of days. Most of the Large Mouth have spawned and are hungry! We have been catching some really nice fish in the backs of the creeks. Plastic worms on bullet weights have been working best. We have been using a variety of colors and morning dawn has been working best. Top water frogs have also been producing some fish. Try targeting water 3 to 9 feet deep in and around brush. The Spotted bass should be pulling up Shallow over the next few days. We have been catching some nice spots on a chug bug. Look for this pattern to continue over the next week or two.
Brown Trout
The trout bite has really picked up over the last few weeks. We have been catching these fish Midway back in the creeks. Trolling small Rapala Countdown crankbaits has been working best. We have also caught a few on medium shiners tipped with a split shot. Look for this pattern to continue over the next couple of weeks. There are some really large schools of younger fish in the 10 to 20 foot of water depth. Sight fishing for these schools and being able to cast to them when they come up as been the ticket.
Walleye
The walleye bite has been decent over the last couple of weeks. The wall I have all spawned and have made their way back down the river channels towards the main lake. Look for the fish in 15 to 25 ft water. We have been working a stand up jig tipped with a medium shiner in the 13 to 20 foot water depth. This technique seems to be working best. We have caught some big walleye the last few trips. These fish seem to be very healthy this year. Look for the walleye to go a little deeper over the next few weeks. These fish will start staging in 25 to 40 foot of water.
Good Luck!
